Organic vs regular chia seeds

Organic chia is grown without synthetic pesticides or artificial fertilisers, and a certified product has been inspected by an independent body. The certification mark on the pack is what counts: look for labels such as USDA Organic, EU Organic or Soil Association. If you want the best value, choose a larger pack; if you want a certified brand you know, Naturya and the USDA Organic pack are the clearest choices.

How much chia should you eat a day?

Most people eat 1 to 2 tablespoons a day. Soak chia for at least 15 to 20 minutes before eating (or overnight), and drink plenty of water, because dry seeds swell as they absorb liquid. Popular ways to eat it: chia water with lemon, chia pudding, chia lassi and mixed into overnight oats.
